On February 19, 2013, the Government of Canada officially opened its Office of Religious Freedom, within Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada. Andrew Bennett, is Canada’s first Ambassador for Religious Freedom . He will delve into Canada’s mandate to promote fundamental Canadian values, including freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law worldwide

Andrew Bennett is Canada’s first Ambassador of Religious Freedom. He served as Canada’s head of Delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. Bennett is committed to higher education and serves as Professor of the History of Christianity at Augustine College, where he also serves in a voluntary capacity as Dean.
