Finkelstein, since 1991 is the rabbi of Congregation Beit Tikvah, and is also the Dean of Judaic Studies at the Ottawa Jewish Community School. He is the founding rabbi of Yitzhak Rabin High School and served as its Judaic principal for the twenty years of its existence.
