Rabbi Finkelstein since 1991 is the rabbi of Congregation Beit Tikvah, and is also the Dean of Judaic Studies at the Ottawa Jewish Community School. He is the founding rabbi of Yitzhak Rabin High School and served as its Judaic principal for the twenty years of its existence. Prior to coming to Ottawa, Rabbi Finkelstein was the spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Israel in Kingston, Ontario. He is the winner of the Grinspoon-Steinhardt 2009.
He received his smicha from Yeshiva University and has a B,A, and M.S degree from the same institution in addition to an M.A. from New York Universtiy.
