with Dara Lithwick
In the first chapter of Ecclesiastes (Kohelet) we come across a famous saying, that “there is nothing new under the sun”. Though we may not be familiar with them, classical Jewish sources offer today’s leaders a variety of insights into effective leadership, articulating ideas that form the core of today’s recognized best practices. Join lawyer and rabbinical student Dara Lithwick for some talk and chevruta study of a range of sources (from Tanach, rabbinic teachings and Talmud) that speak to what Jewish tradition has to say about effective leadership.
Lithwick is studying to be a rabbi through Aleph, the Alliance for Jewish Renewal. She is continuously amazed by the beauty of Torah, as, in the words of Ben Bag Bag, we can “turn it and turn it, for everything is in it” (Pirkei Avot 5:22). Dara is further inspired by the call of the prophets to help improve the world.
